My Story

True Indeed LLC's humble beginning started with working young people at a counseling center back in 1992. Those young people seemed to be inspired by my words and actions. As a student-athlete, I admired those athletes who had a crowd of young people vying for autographs and a simple "hey" from their role models.. The thought of being a role model was a great inspiration for me to be good at everything I was doing, plus I thought it was plain old cool! 

Becoming a coach, I thought I would lose out on role modeling until I was exposed to the great Eddie Robinson. The legendary Grambling State University coach was about capturing the hearts of men. It was something that I wasn't sure I could do, but I was willing and able to work at it. My high school coach was also a figure in my life. I had a father in my home, but we all have inspiration outside of the home, and his uncommon perspective was valued, respected, and appreciated.

As I grew as a coach, I grew wiser as a young man while working with adjudicated youth. Stressful at times, but rewarding when using the relationship building skills I developed working in a day treatment facility. The philosophy of the facility was "Relationship is Primary." Building those relationships outside of my comfort zone, yet maintaining the guidelines and expectations, made me appreciate the process involved. I became who I am.

Young people with a strike or more against them pushed me to care about helping them get a hit, not to strike out! The values and beliefs planted at home have taken me to where I stand today. On a platform of respect to all people. Helping those around me. Wanting all those that I come in contact with to win.

True Indeed is true in many ways, but the best way possible for all of us is to want to be 1% better than we were yesterday.  I want to see us build the largest vanguard of influence, not by me but by WE, THROUGH EFFECTIVE RELATIONSHIPS. Improving mental health, inspiring and influencing those with distortions with a restructuring rope that is always anchored to hope.
